Marry, Date or Dump: Prince Charmings

Cinderella is one of the most retold stories in literature and film, hence the term “Cinderella story”. And where there is a Cinderella, a Prince Charming can’t be far away. They are often tall, dark, and handsome – but that doesn’t mean they are the perfect for you. List which version of Prince Charming you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump in the comments below.

If you say you would just be friends with all three, you might want to try and find some gumption. This is not real. It is just a game. I promise you might find someone you consider your Prince Charming, but there is no way you will ever get the chance to marry any of the options below.

Prince Charmont “Char” from Ella Enchanted
Prince Charming from Shrek 2 and Shrek 3
   Disney’s Prince Charming

  1. Marry Char, every time. One of my first real “fictional crushes” was after I read Ella Enchanted.
Date Disney. He seems like a nice enough guy.
Dump Shrek (I think that one’s obvious)

  2. Undoubtedly marry Char-either version, though the literary Char is definitely better. The other two…are difficult. I don’t think I could be doing anything with a guy I found as boring as Disney’s prince, who clearly lacks any gumption whatsoever and would absolutely be unable to answer marry/date/dump questions in game form. Shrek’s prince at least has some ambitions, but is a total jerk. On the other hand, if one gets him away from his mother, he seems willing to be shaped by the strongest female around. Are we dating them in our world, away from their other characters? Cause then I’d take a chance on Shrek’s prince, and even if we did nothing but argue, at least it would be stimulating, I would get to slap him, and there’d be some hope I would help his character. If we have to go into their world, I suppose Disney Charming’s palaces would be worth being around him for awhile.

    1. I’m definitely thinking of the literary Char as well (unfortunately there was no other photo on google thanthe movie Char). Ella Enchanted is one of the only movies I’ve left the theaters during. Such a dissapointment compared to the book.

I love your committment to the fantasy. Totally up to you if the dating occurs in present day or in the characters time. Thanks for commenting!

  3. Of these three I would marry Char, date Cinderella’s Prince Charming and dump Shrek’s Prince Charming. But really my heart belongs to Prince Christopher from Brandy’s Cinderella.

  4. Hmmmm. I would definitely marry Char, the book version.

Disney’s Prince is boring, but maybe I can drag him somewhere scandalous and seedy and get a reaction out of him. I would go on ONE date with him to see what would happen.

Shrek’s Prince Charming is hard because he is more interesting, but is also obnoxious. actually, I would rather hang out with his mother. She’s got gumption, is a fairy godmother, and she’s Jennifer Saunders. Hanging out with her would be sweet. Forget Prince Charming! I want to go out with her!
