I’d love to be one of those people who writes that it doesn’t matter who you vote for as long as you vote. It sounds so adult and nonjudgemental and nonpartisan. But it is also a giant lie. If it didn’t matter who you voted for, there would be absolutely no reason to vote. You should vote because it does matter who you vote for. This affects more than four years (which is actually a pretty long amount of time – think about how long college was) it can change the future of your country and the future of your life.
You only live once, so you should make sure to protect your health, your right to equal pay, your right to marry who you want (vote in favor of question 6 if you’re in MD), your ability to plan your family, and so many more things.
So go vote, especially if are planning on voting for Obama. It is worth the inconvenience, many states have laws requiring employers to give you time off to do so (check your states laws), and you get an awesome sticker and day full of positive reinforcement.
Sorry if I’ve offended anyone. There is a time for bipartisanship, but that time is not on voting day. If you don’t want to listen to me listen to these two funny people:
Bahaha. Those videos are great.
Thanks! I enjoyed them.
I’m from the UK, and I would vote for Obama 🙂
Thanks! I wish you could have voted here. I hope (and expect) you are happy with the results.
We all voted today. All voted for Obama. Wore my “Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Obama” t-shirt, because I am an Asian American and Pacific Islander! Hopefully we will all be happy tonight.
Yay! Not that I had any doubts. Hope you had a fun and celebratory night.
