Wikepedia defines The Beats as: a group of American post-World War II writers who came to prominence in the 1950s, as well as the cultural phenomena that they both documented and inspired. Central elements of “Beat” culture included rejection of received standards, innovations in style, experimentation with drugs, alternative sexualities, an interest in Eastern religion, a rejection of materialism, and explicit portrayals of the human condition.
So basically these are the types of guys you want to bring home to mom … or maybe that is just my mom. I will say they all look pretty snazzy in their black and while photos. Today, I’ll give you three Beats: Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and William S. Burroughs. Let us know who you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump in the comments.

If you want more Marry, Date or Dump, you might be interested in trying Fitzgerald, Hemingway and Faulkner or Mr. Darcy, Jay Gatsby and Rhett Butler.
date, date, date — all would be interesting to talk to
I love your “I can have it all” attitude. Thanks for commenting!
Marry Burroughs but never let him shoot apples off my head, Date Ginsberg in my long tradition of dating gay men and dump Kerouac
whoa. over share? Burroughs is the one I would be most reluctant to marry – but that is purely based on his books. I don’t know anything about him. I think I would marry ginsberg, date kerouac, and dump burroughs … pretty glad that this is not a real life decision though.
