Marry, Date or Dump: Men from Game of Thrones

game of thronesI had my first Game of Thrones experience last night. I watched last night’s episode and my nana explained the whole series to me. I’m still a little confused, but she did a great job. I’m hoping to read the series later this summer. I now know that there are literally hundred of characters to choose from. I’ve chosen three fellows that were in last night’s episode: Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, and Jaime Lannister (aren’t they all just so dark and broody?!?!). Let me know who you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump in the comments. Please, as always, feel free to substitute my choices with your own. I know I’m a newbie and probably missed some important characters. Next week I’ll bring you some options from the ladies on the show.

  1. If only Ned Stark or Rob Stark were still alive. *sniffle, sniffle*

I would marry Jon. Even with the dirt on his face, he is one hot man. I would date Tryion. Despite his upbringing, he is actually a very considerate and nice man. I would dump Jaime. He does seem to be showing some promise of growth with Brienne of Tarth, but I still think he’s an asshole. A handsome asshole, but an ass just the same.

Definitely read the books, Alison. They are great.

    1. I agree that Jon is definitely the hottie of the bunch (although my nana said Jaime is supposed to be the heart throb) I can’t wait until I’ve read the books and know more about what your talking about! Thanks for commenting!

  2. Well another tough choice – I think marry Tyrion – he is so smart ,so kind and so funny! All good characters for a spouse – although I almost went with John Snow who is so honorable another important quality ( Tyrion is not) – I guess now doubt John Snow and dump Jamie.

  3. Oh man, I’ve been waiting for this installment! I’m a super die-hard fan of the show, and now that season 3 is over, I’d like to try the books too.

Anyway, I’m not a fan of blondes or incest (yes, in that order, LOL), so I’d dump Jaime. I’d date Jon–he’s such a pretty face, and apparently an amazing lover, but he can be an emo stick in the mud sometimes. And even though he’s faithful, he’s not the most loyal of boyfriends–as seen with Ygritte attempting to kill him after he abandoned her for his comrades.

That leaves Tyrion for me to marry. Despite his small stature, he’s such a compassionate man and he would do anything for the woman he loves. Not to mention, he’s cunning, charismatic, and witty–with some of the best lines on the show. One of my absolute fav characters, so I’m still naively keeping my fingers crossed that he and Shae will live happily ever after!

    1. I know! I’ve been wanting to read the books forever, but have been holding off because it seems like such a big commitment. But after watching the show I don’t think I have any choice.

  4. Jon, Jamie, or Tyrion… What a predicament. But let’s see.

Jon is basically everyone’s favorite character (other than Tyrion) but to be honest, I think he’d be quite boring to hang out with. All that honor vague self pity about being a bastard (not that I entirely blame him for it, but still). But, come on — that hair! Westeros needs to invent Herbal Essences just so Jon can star in the commercial. So I’m going to go with ‘date’, and not get too attached. Especially after what happened he did in Episode 9 of season 3, that bastard.

Jamie Lannister — well, incest just doesn’t do it for me, and since I’m not Cersei, I don’t think this relationship would have a future. Sorry Jamie, but you’re dumped.

I guess I’m marrying Tyrion then. There are worse things. He’s a damn good guy for the most part, though the fixation with prostitutes might pose a problem.

Really, I don’t think there’s a single man in Game of Thrones I would marry, ever. They’re all kind of rapey and terrible (at least the ones who are still alive.) If I really, sword-to-the-throat had to marry one of them — well, can I pick Hodor? Because he’s really nice to Bran, could do all the heavy lifting, and wouldn’t pick fights. (Not to mention.. well, I won’t be vulgar, haha).

    1. Yes yes and yes to the Jon Snow Herbal Essences commercial – an organic experience! I don’t remember who Hodor is (stil learning the characters!) but you can absolutely pick him.

  5. This is hard because last season I would have said DUMP JAMIE HANDS DOWN but he’s really grown on me this season and I’m glad he’s still around. I’d say marry Jon Snow, date Jamie and dump Tyrion just because while he’s reformed a bit, I’m not to keen on the man whore/alcoholic thing, though he has a really good heart. Ah this is a really hard choice! Can’t I just add Joffrey in the mix and dump him so I can marry or date all the other guys???
