My 26th Birthday Giveaway

birthday12-hp

Hello Friends! It’s my 26th birthday. I know this is still young, but I am getting dangerously close to the end of emerging adulthood. I’m having a great day in Big Sur. Sometimes writing here can be a little lonely, but I’ve so appreciated all the cards and calls I’ve gotten today reminding me of all the lovely people in my life. Also, as you can see above, google had a special birthday doodle for me when I opened my browser this morning.

In honor of my birthday, I’m holding my first ever blog giveaway. I’ve never done one of these, so we’ll see how it goes. The prize is a $26 gift certificate on Amazon. Everyone who leaves a comment on the blog between today and October 26th (see the 26 theme?) will get their name entered into a hat. If you publicize the giveaway through Twitter or Facebook you will get your name entered into the hat twice (just give me a link to the post/tweet in the comments so I will know). If you link back to my blog on your blog you will get your name entered three times.

On the 26th I will pick a name out of the hat and announce the winner.

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! What a sweet thing to host a giveaway. I’m sharing this on Facebook today. Most of all, wishing you many years of joy and writing bliss.

  2. Happy birthday!!! Big Sur is beautiful, I’m so jealous.

You said this is your first giveaway, so I thought I would tell you about Rafflecopter. Have you heard of it? You probably can’t use it this time around since you already started, but if you decide to do giveaways in the future it can make picking a winner super easy. I’ve used it in the past and it’s a breeze. Just thought I’d share, hope that’s not impertinent of me! I felt super overwhelmed when I did my first giveaway so I thought I’d share what I learned over time. πŸ™‚

Anyways, have a wonderful 26th birthday and thanks for the giveaway! But aren’t you supposed to GET things on your birthday, not GIVE them? πŸ˜‰

    1. Thanks! I actually tried to get rafflecopter to work this morning but the widget wouldn’t embed. Maybe I will will give it another try again though after your positive review (it’s not impertinent at all!).

      1. You know what, now that I think about it, I’m not certain you can embed rafflecopter if you’re just using the free wordpress version. It’s been a while since I used it, but when I did I’m pretty sure I had it linked to my facebook page rather than my blog. Sorry – I had totally forgot about that!

  3. Happy birthday! I like that you’re using your age as the amount of money on the gift card. That idea can get pretty expensive as time goes by! πŸ˜€ I hope to spread the word of your giveaway in my blog, I will reply again with a link once I’ve done it.

  4. Happy birthday! I’ll hope you keep blogging for at least another 26 years, because I love the atmosphere of your blog – wordless wednesday, lazy sunday, the bookreviews, everything.

    1. Thank you for entering my giveaway. You are so sweet! I have no idea what I’ll be doing in 26 days, let alone 26 years, but I do hope to continue blogging for some time.

  5. Happy Birthday! My boyfriend turns 24 tomorrow and he’s not happy about it, but I personally think it’s wonderful growing older. It’s not as scary as people make it out to be. I hope you’ve had some wonderful 26 years and I wish you all the best in your 26 years to come! πŸ™‚

    1. Christiney, thank you so much for entering the giveaway (I just put your name three times in the hat) and your sweet birthday wishes. Your blog is amazing. I’m excited to keep reading it!
