Happy Friday friends! As you can tell from the title of this blog post I have really been enjoying the new(ish) PBS webseries The Art Assignment. For those of you who don’t know, this is a youtube show where Sarah Urist Green and her YA novelist husband John Green visit artists throughout the country and present assignments for viewers to complete. I especially liked last week’s episode with Toyin Odutola.
I liked it so much that I decided to complete the assignment to make a GIF about something intimate and indispensable to me. I made mine about my favorite books when I was learning to read. The theme of this blog might be a hint that my love of books has played a huge role in my life, but I didn’t actually learn to read until really late (around 4th grade).
You can read more about my project and the inspiration behind it here and check out other peoples responses on the Art Assignment tumblr.
Has anyone else been watching the show and/or completing any assignments? If you were going to make a GIF about something indispensable to you what would it be about?
Love your GIF. And the Art Assignment is fantastic; we can’t wait to do Meet in the Middle 🙂
Thanks! Meet in the Middle sounds fun. I’m glad you are enjoying the show as well.
Hadn’t heard about it until your post. What fun! Sooo glad you learned how to read! And write. 😉
Thank you Katy. I would definitely check the show out! And thanks for the sweet comments.
I had not heard of the Art Assignment, it sounds interesting and now I will go check it out.
