Marry, Date or Dump: Jo March, Anne Shirley, & Hermione Granger

Happy Monday friends! I picked three of my favorite smart literary heroines for today’s marry, date or dump. We’ve got Jo March from Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott, Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables, by L. M. Montgomery, and Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter books. Have fun figuring out who you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump. I seriously don’t know who I would dump from this bunch – they are all winners!

  1. This is a really hard one but here goes – Marry Anne Shirley you life would always be fun and exciting (esp. if you are Gilbert Blythe), Date Jo March – again fun and exciting but I think Louisa May Alcott never married and I think Jo March only did because the public demanded it and Alcott was a commercial writer. Dump Hermione – although I LOVE her.

  2. If it was Gilbert and not Anne the decision would be so easy! Love him both in the books and the movies. As it is marry Hermione because she is smart, tough and a planner, date Anne because she’s fun and a dreamy and dump but mostly because I never quite got over the fact that she didn’t marry Laurie when he asked!

  3. I agree with Martha-the older heroines just seem to have so much more imagination! I’ll marry someone who understands the importance of fancy sleeves and role-playing (Anne), date the girl who knows we need treat food but can ignore some rules (Jo), and dump the girl who can set canaries on me when she’s upset and shows her love for someone only when they gave into a cause they didn’t believe in (canary incident and the house-elf thing I just couldn’t live with).

  4. Dump Hermione because if I married her, she’d win EVERY. SINGLE. ARGUMENT. I love Jo, so I’d marry her, and date Anne.
