Hello readers! It is still amazing to me that I can use the word readers plural and that more people than just my mom visit the blog. All I can say is thank you. Earlier this week through top ten tuesday I was asked to make 10 blogging confessions, it really got me started thinking about what’s working on the blog, what isn’t working, and what changes I might need to make once I go to New York. I love love love everything I do here, but realistically 5 posts a week takes up a lot of time and fitting that in with school/work/moving to a new city seems like I might be setting myself up to get burned out. I also know I’m doing certain things, like posting on Sundays, that aren’t working. It will probably be a process figuring out how to fit blogging into my new schedule, but before I make any big decisions I want to know what you think. Please answer the poll questions below and please leave a comment so I can enter you in a raffle to win a $10 amazon gift card. I will announce the winner next Friday! Feel free to choose multiple answers.
Thank you again for answering the questions. Please leave any other feedback you have for me in the comments or feel free contact me directly.
I hope you don’t have to give it up! I’m sure you already know this but maybe during your move you can just do the posts a head of time so that way they are still that but you don’t actually have to do anything. I love that feature it really helps out a lot! I also love Top Ten Tuesday, it is one of my favorite memes. I hope it all works out for you!

Thanks Whitney! Definitely not planning on giving the blog up … but maybe scaling back from 5 posts a week or getting better at prescheduling posts a head of time. Very good idea!
I recently just found your blog and think it’s great! Good luck with your move!
Thanks Caroline! I appreciate it!
Best of luck in your move to New York! As my own life got busier, I’ve found that the posting twice a week strategy works best for me. I schedule two posts (usually for Tuesdays and Thursdays), and schedule far enough in advance that if I have a week where work is busy or I’m feeling burned out, then I can let myself chill out and not get anything done. Then on weeks when something happens in the book world or I’m feeling more ambitious, I can always post more.
Thanks! It’s great to hear someone else’s strategy!
I hope my answers will help as you figure out what’s realistic for your blog … I posted every day last year but only 3 times a week this year, and I have more views!
Thanks Jackie, that’s awesome to hear! I have a bunch of pre-made Wordless Wednesdays and Marry, Date or Dumps so I’m not sure I’m going to make any big changes now, but it’s nice to have people’s feedback as I start to think about what is more realistic!
Nice poll! I totally understand the burnout! It’s so difficult for me to blog consistently, but this is a great reminder for me to get on a schedule! Keep on keeping on! 🙂
I feel you on the burnout thing. I have been trying like mad to schedule ahead of time since my son is having surgery on Monday, but I just can’t seem to get ahead! I know I could take a week or two off, but it gives me such anxiety lol. I think even if you cut back one or two days for now, you’d feel much less overwhelmed. And good luck with the move 🙂
Alison, good for you for thinking about what you can and cannot accomplish with the blog as you move into the next phase of your life and career. I don’t have as much on my plate as you and I still haven’t gotten you my Maine road trip blog post…I can send it along today if you still want it.
Hi Anmiryam! No rush. Getting it to me sometime early next week would be great though. Hope you had fun on your trip! I can’t wait to read about it!
Thanks! I will get it to you soon. The biggest problem is that there is so much to say and too few pictures!
I’m sure it will be great!
Don’t worry about going over the word count I originally gave you. Almost everyone (including myself) have!
Don’t feel bad at all if you need a break or to scale back. Good luck with the move!
I hope the survey answers are helpful! The most important thing is that you create balance for yourself… we don’t just love the topics, we love the author of this blog and we want her to succeed! So share what’s important to you when you can; you’ve got loyal readers and fans!
