  1. Maybe it is a good thing if you don’t publish by 27 because while you would be in good literary company how many of these authors had happy and fulfilling lives by my quick perusal many if not most of them suffered from depression.

  2. Happy birthday! Just remember-27 used to mean have-been-an-adult-and-trying for a lot longer than it does today with the college system getting longer and longer with more positions requiring even higher degrees, etc. So in real adult terms, publishing by 27 today would really be like publishing by 20-24 or something, depending on the time and economics of each of those guys. Birthday gift of perspective-Bestowed! *flourishes wand so sparkles come out* *whooshes away*
