Top Ten Books I Swooned Over as a Teenager

toptentuesday

Even though I’m obsessed with YA now, as a teen I didn’t really read very much of it. I was on a diet of classics and chick lit, with the occasional romance novel stirred in. These are some books that in my teenage years I thought were the sexiest, most romantic things ever written. Seriously, I reread some of the kissing scenes in these books so many times I can probably still recite them. I’d love to know what books you swooned over in high school in the comments!

Thanks to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting this weekly book meme.

  1. Definitely Katherine – the model as far as I am concerned for historical fiction. Another book I loved as a preteen (more than as a teen) was Watch the Wall my Darling by Jane Aiken Hodge – another historical fiction book that then led to a love of Victoria Holt and Phyllis Whitney (although I wouldn’t say I swooned over any of them.)

Other swooners in teenage years would include the R. F. Delderfield books – God is an Englishman, To Serve Them All My Days – and the Leon Uris books Exodus and Mila 18.
