Burn, Read, Rewrite: Outlander, The Notebook, & The Time Traveler’s Wife

I guess I’m still in a Valentine’s Day mood, so I thought I’d pick three more recent favorite romantic novels for today’s game of Burn, Read, Rewrite. Your favorite – you burn. Your second favorite – you rewrite, perhaps explaining something you’d want to change. Your least favorite – you burn (figuratively of course, I’m very anti-book burning in the literal sense). Let me know your choices and thoughts in the comments!

Here’s what I would do…

  • Read: The Time Traveler’s Wife (one of my high school favorites)
  • Rewrite: Outlander (I didn’t like this book the first time around, but I’m willing to give it a second chance based on all the people I know who love it.)
  • Burn: The Notebook (As long as we get to keep the movie I’m fine with the book mysteriously disappearing)

Now it’s your turn!

  1. Finally one that’s easy! Read Time Traveler’s Wife, rewrite Outlander (Diana Gabaldon did write it 20 years before the others and a lot changed in the meantime) and burn The Notebook – which I’ve never even wanted to read!

  2. Agree both easier and Read Time Travelers’s Wife, rewrite Outlander and burn the Notebook. Now if we are talking movie or TV – watch Notebook, reedit Time Travelers’s Wife and burn Outlander – who could give up Ryan Goessling.
