Last week’s top ten tuesday got me thinking about all the authors I loved who I will never get to meet. The question is always phrased who would you want to meet living or dead. Since last week’s post was on living authors I really want to meet, this week I thought I’d do the other side of the question – authors who are dead. Let me know in the comments who you’d want to meet and/or what you think of my picks!
Big thanks to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting this weekly book meme!
Oh my god I totally agree! Fantastic post, great picks! 😀 When we did top ten authors I REALLY want to meet last week, I limited it to ones that are still alive and it really was so hard.
Happy reading,
Amy x
Thanks Amy! I was (obviously) in the same boat.
Great post! I agree with most of these. I’d worry that Salinger would be a real dread to talk to, but maybe if you pretended not to want to talk about his work then he’d be alright.
Yeah … you might be right about that one. Still love his books, but maybe I should have picked someone else to meet.
I completely agree about loving his books. I don’t blame you for wanting to meet him. I think depending on the topic he would be a good conversationalist. 🙂
Yeah..as the above – I agree too! What the hell would it be like to meet Jane Austen – the ultimate single-woman who wrote all those love stories! 😀 Great idea! x
I know that would probably be my number 1 pick (maybe Shakespeare just because there is so much confusion around him!)
I would have loved to meet Louisa May Alcott! 🙂 I adored Little Women!
Me too!
Nice spin off from last weeks topic!

Great list! I would also love to sit and sip a gin & tonic with Hemingway. I made my list on “Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far in 2015.” Here’s my TTT. Happy reading!
Oooh, interesting topic! I think I would want to meet Charles Dickens. He was such a brilliant observer of everyday life that he would no doubt be a fascinating person with whom to have a conversation.
Happy TTT!

Nice topic! I’d want to meet Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton, two of my favourite childhood authors.

Of course Jane Austen but I suspect I would get on her last nerves, hehe. I would also like to meet Charles Dickens, so we can converse about society. Shoot I think I will just have a party for Victorian/Regency authors.
I don’t know how I forgot about Dickens. He would definitely have a lot of interesting things to say.
There is something about his pen that is agreeable for me, I want to read all his work one day, even reread those I vaguely remember as a child.
