Happy Monday, friends! I thought I’d switch things up and have authors instead of characters for today’s marry, date, or dump options. Now let’s face it, none of these men would have made particularly good husbands. But whether you choose based on their books, their looks, or any other criteria you want, I’m still excited to see which author you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump.
Here are my picks:
- Marry: Faulkner (as a person he seems like the lesser of three evils)
- Date: Fitzgerald (maybe my diary would end up in one of his books!)
- Dump: Hemingway (his whole machismo thing seems way over the top to me)
Now it’s your turn!
I know what you mean. I’ve read all three. Yes, they were brilliant writers. But while I would probably date Faulkner and have a drink with Hemingway, eventually I would dump all of these dudes.
Love the distinction between dating someone and just getting a drink with someone!
Good topic! I would dump Faulker for sure (if his stream of consciousness is any indicator of his conversation skills!), date Hemingway (he was a ladies’ man, after all), and marry Fitzgerald. Can’t like a man unless I like his books!
*Faulkner…looks like my spelling error is a Freudian slip! 😉
Definitely a freudian slip!
Marry Hemingway, Date Fitzgerald, Dump Faulkner – Having read The Paris Wife she at least had a interesting time until it was over and then went on to live a relatively stable life in Carmel, CA – so, I think he could be safe and fun for a while – date Fitzgerald pre-Zelda can’t interfere with that dysfunctional love match but he still would be fun. I don;t really know enough about Faulkner.
I bet all three of them would be interesting to be married to, if not good husbands.
