So, my collection of characters for today’s marry, date or dump might seem a little random at first. Basically, I was trying to think of characters that some people find incredibly charming and other people find incredibly creepy. Also maybe I was just trying to find an excuse to put Edward Cullen into one of these again (just maybe though … I’m not going to fully admit to that). Anyway, for your choices today we have Edward Cullen from Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer, Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey, by E.L. James, and (with a bit more literary clout) Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte. I’m excited to read in the comment who you’d marry, who you’d date, and who you’d dump.
Here are my choices:
- Marry: Edward Cullen (This was an easy peasy lemon squeezy pick for me).
- Date: Christian Grey (Less easy. Very little interest in dating Christian or Heathcliff – my reasoning here was that after Christian breaks up with girls he does nice things like pay for them to go to art school or med school while Heathcliff pretty much ruins the lives of everyone he knows).
- Dump: Heathcliff (I still don’t get the appeal).
Marry Edward, the only decent option here! 🙂
Date Heathcliff. Maybe he will be less whiney and intense if he thinks we have a chance at a future.
Dump Christian. Keep me as far away from that red room as possible!!!
So fair! I went back and forth about dumping Christian and Heathcliff for a long time!
Ohhh I was so excited when I saw this one in my inbox.
This one is easy for me.
Date: Edward Cullen. As long as he leans on his volvo when he picks me up for our first date.
Marry: Christian Grey – while his Red Room isn’t entirely up my alley, I love how the minute he realizes he’s in love (a new concept for him) she becomes his entire world. Plus I’m always drawn to the boys who are a bit broken.
Dump: Heathcliff. I love Wuthering Heights. One of my favorite books but he was a bit too dramatic for my taste.
I have to admit I was partially thinking of you while I put this post together! Glad you played (and made the right choices!)
I actually stopped what I was doing at work the minute I saw the title and commented – I was thrilled 🙂
Yay! I’m so glad!
I TOTALLY get marrying Edward. Actually, my boyfriend of five years actually has a little in common with him! (But he can never know.)
What … does your boyfriend sparkle in the sunlight? Just kidding, and similarity to Edward is pretty amazing.
I think so, too!
