I’m heading out to California today (!!!) for a few weeks of vacation before school starts. While I’m gone I’m going to repost some of my favorite pas marry, date or dump line ups. This one was originally posted in July 2012. The big three authors for English majors everywhere. I’m excited to read in the comments who you’d marry, who you’d date, and who you would dump!
Here are my picks (they haven’t changed in the last 3 years FYI):
- Marry: Shakespeare (even though that’s a little spooky since we know so little about him!)
- Date: Chaucer
- Dump: Milton (too gloomy!)
I’d date Shakespeare but I’m not sure I’d be able to commit to him (or that he would commit to me). Dump Milton because he’s kind of a downer. Marry Chaucer – I love his self deprecating sense of humor and clever wit.
Marry Chaucer-I agree with his money philosophy, I admire his wit, and his raunchiness makes me curious.
Date Shakespeare-Dramatic artist fling without sticking around to hear the muttering as he came up with new words or getting sucked into acting jealousies. Also, there’s trust issues with this one, any way I look at it.
Dump Milton.
