I know this pairing is totally random, but I just picked three idealized (but occasionally obsessive) romantic male characters to choose from this week. We have Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice and Edward Cullen from Twilight and Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby. All seem like they would be fun, but potentially perilous, to date. Let me know who you’d marry, who you’d date, and who you’d dump in the comments!
Here are my picks:
- Marry: Mr. Darcy (perhaps the least obsessive, plus Pemberley, plus Colin Firth … all marriage reasons).
- Date: Jay Gatsby (think of the parties and the silk shirts!)
- Dump: Edward (Loved this character so much while I was reading it, but don’t really want to become a vampire).
Alison Doherty 
Oh this is a tough one, but I think I’m feeling good about my choices.
I was never a Pride and Prejudice girl, therefore Mr. Darcy was never someone I thought much about, so he’s going to get dumped, sadly.
Edward is 100% going to be dated but that’s about it – I’m with you. I’m not down with the vampire for life, lifestyle.
I’d marry Jay Gatsby in a heartbeat and hopefully the fact that I’d choose him and only him, would keep everyone alive and the party going for a long, long, time 😉
Alison – I’m with you…but maybe only by default because I never read Twilight.
