As I write this I’m lying in front of a fan wearing as few clothes as possible, so it must be summer. And even though I’m not happy about putting up with the humidity and the mosquitos and all the New York summer smells I forgot about from last year, I am very, very happy to be in the season of beach reads. Here are ten books I hope to read in the sun and on the sand this summer. What books are you looking forward to read this summer? I’d love to know in the comments.
Thanks to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting this weekly book meme!

Great list! The first two are both books I’m interested in, and I’m curious about “The Summer of Chasing Mermaids” too! 🙂
Thanks! I started Summer Days & Summer Nights at the beach last week and am loving it so far!
Great to know, Alison! Thanks for saying so – and thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland. 🙂
I’m reading Summer Days now and I think Love and Gelato looks fun too.
I’m reading Summer Days now too, and really enjoying it. The stories are all so different!
Summer Days and Summer Nights sounds interesting to me because of the authors in it. And the second time I’m seeing The Summer of Chasing Mermaids as I am making my ttt rounds. I suppose that is a sign, haha. Great list.
I started Summer Days on the beach last week. The short story format was actually perfect for beach reading. I’m always excited to read the stories by my favorites, but also feel like I’m discovering new authors as well!
Ahhhh, these books look so cute ❤ I need to read The Summer Of Chasing Mermaids and the new Kasie West!
You are the person who turned me onto Kasie West! I tore through all her novels last summer and now I can’t wait for her newest. I’ll always be grateful!
Aw! You’re so welcome!
You have excellent taste in beach reads! Ockler, Matson and West are classics, and I hope to read Love & Gelato, Tumbling and You Know Me Well soon. Happy summer reading & stay cool!
Thank you! I’m in total agreement about Ockler, Matson, and West being classic beach read authors. Happy summer reading to you as well!
I’m really looking forward to several of these too! I’ve got You Know Me Well coming up soon. I haven’t read Tiny Pretty Things yet, but I really want to.
I’m so so excited for You Know Me Well!
Love & Gelato is an awesome book for the summer. I recently read it and it’s one of my new favorites. Summer Days and Summer Nights is a good anthology but unfortunately, some of the stories weren’t for me at all. I hope you enjoy all the books!!
I’m glad to hear you liked Love & Gelato … I have it on hold waiting for me at the library right now.
Great list! I haven’t seen any of these books before.
All of these ❤ Kasie West has been a popular choice this morning. I haven't read her before. I do have The Fill-In Boyfriend sitting on my kindle waiting on me…maybe I should go read it 😉
I LOVE The Fill-In Boyfriend! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
summer days and summer nights, the summer of chasing mermaids, and the unexpected everything are on my list this week as well! I loved all of those so much, and i think they’re perfect for tanning 🙂 Love and Gelato and You Know Me Well are on my TBR too, as well as P.S. I like You! So many good releases this summer!
here’s my TTT!
I’ve heard lots of good things about The Summer of Chasing Mermaids and I’m all for another Kasie West book. It’s being released over the summer which is just perfect. Nice list!
Great list! I really want to try Morgan Matson and Kasie West. I’ve heard great things about their books and they just sound like so much fun.
I haven’t heard of most of these but they look like they would be great beach reads! Adding some of these to my TBR list now. Thanks for sharing 🙂
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids is on my list, too! I definitely want to read that one. The Unexpected Everything is really good. Morgan Matson is incredible. Wonderful list!
I’m SO excited to read The Unexpected Everything. I’ve loved all of Morgan Matson’s previous novels. I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
I haven’t read any of these but they seem to be interesting YA contemps. I should check them out when I’m in the mood for something like that.
Great list – so many of these I hope to read in the summer as well! Summer Days and Summer Nights, You Know Me Well and The Unexpected Everything are all books I really want to read some time soon – they all sound good! The Last Time We Were Us also looks really cute – hope you enjoy all of these 🙂
