I know my subject this week might seem suspiciously specific. There’s a reason for this. When my friends started having babies for me to buy presents for, I always gave my childhood favorites. Lots of Eric Carle and Dr. Seuss. When I moved to New York, I realized that all the picture book authors and illustrators working right now need $$$ too. Also, they are creating the most beautiful stories. I want to support that! So now, I try to give mostly contemporary picture books to the little ones in my life. Here are some of my favorites from the last five years. Let me know if you have any favorites in the comments! I’d love to check them out!

I adore The Day The Crayons Quit. Such a good book!
The first two sound hilarious! I guess one of the few cons about never having kids is being out of touch with the genre. Doesn’t mean I can’t check them out as an adult though!
I love Wendy Latty’s books. Her illustrations are beautiful. You should take a look at her books.
Hi! I love picture books. I must read The Day the Crayons Quit 🙂
I love Dragons Love Tacos and The Day the Crayons Quit! I can’t even count the number of times I’ve read them!
