Happy Monday, friends! Over the last five feverish, ouchy-throated days I have, of course, watched both Pride and Prejudice adaptations. So I’ve got Jane Austen on the brain! I’ve done a lot of Austen combinations in past Marry Date or Dumps, but I don’t think I’ve done this one. This is frankly shocking because I think about it a lot. We’ve got Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bingley, and Colonel Fitzwilliam. At first, it seems pretty straight forward. But people can have very different, very strident opinions when it comes to these men. One of my favorite English teachers in high school strongly felt that Colonel Fitzwilliam was the best man of the bunch. Let me know who you’d pick by writing who you’d marry, who you’d date, and who you’d dump in the comments! Here are my picks:
- Marry: Mr. Darcy – I know he’s broody and opinionated and difficult, but I can’t help myself. He’s Mr. Darcy.
- Date: Mr. Bingley – He’s such a positive, enthusiastic person. Also, a good dancer.
- Dump: Colonel Fitzwilliam – Sorry Ms. Bihn, I do like and admire Colonel Fitzwilliam, but he still seems like the most boring of the bunch to me! Also he needs to marry money to support himself, so he probably wouldn’t want to be with me anyway.

Love this! I would definitely Marry Mr. Darcy, Date Mr. Bingley, and Dump Mr. Wickham. I thought about putting Mr. Collins for Dump, but I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to date him in the first place haha 🙂
I love that you are dumping Wickham! Ithought about putting in Mr. Collins for the third option (instead of Colonel Fitzwilliam) but I decided everyone would just automatically dump him!
I totally agree! Mr. Bingley is delightful but I worry I’d get a little tired of him, Mr. Darcy’s wit wins all the way 🙂
Right. You have to pick Mr. Darcy. It’s like a rule. (although I know there are a lot of readers who really don’t like him)
I would say the exact same thing! I feel like everyone would marry Mr. Darcy! Who wouldn’t want to be married to him haha

Well … I have yet to read PAP ( I know… what a shame! ) so I don’t really know if I would marry him, too. xD
