Ten YA Contemporary Gems Posted on August 29, 2017September 1, 2017 by Alison Doherty in top ten tuesday Not all of these books are hidden gems, but I do think all of them deserved more buzz and attention then they received. I loved all of these stories and am always excited when someone else discovers one of these beautiful YA contemporary gems. Born Confused, by Tanuja Desai Hidier Kissing Ted Callahan (and Other Guys), by Amy Spalding Truest, by Jackie Lea Sommers Love and Other Theories, by Alexis Bass Trouble, by Non Pratt The Distance Between Lost and Found, by Kathryn Holmes Things We Know By Heart, by Jessi Kirby Life by Committee, by Corey Ann Haydu Wildflower, by Alecia Whitaker Girl out of Water, by Laura Silverman Thank you to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting this weekly book meme! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Born Confused! Great list!
Thank you! I love that one. There is one scene late in the book that I think about all the time, even though I read it years ago!
Sometimes I just need a good YA Contemporary. I usually prefer fantasy but that can be overwhelming sometimes. I’ll be sure to check these out. Thanks!!!

Good list. I haven`t heard of a lot of these, but this summer I really got into YA contemporary books and want to read more in that genre.

Some fab contemporary reads here! 🙂 Great picks!
I haven’t heard of most of these! I do want to read Trouble but I find the cover slightly offputting!
