Summer, for me, started with my sister’s magical wedding.
It was beautiful to be together and see Sarah and Jerome’s magical vision come together. Their wedding really was a gift to all the people they love. Here I am reading Spinster, by Kate Bolick, in preparation for the wedding. Kind of a joke but also a deeply good & moving story.Summer isn’t summer without some time spent by the pool.Oh! And I got to meet Sarah Dessen, Jenny Hand, and Jennifer E. Smith – all in the same night! And danced to the biggest hits from 1987 for a friend’s birthday party (I’m the one taking the picture).I went to my friend’s rooftop party in the rain. Umbrellas were necessary.I travelled to Michigan, where family time + lake time = perfectionCelebrated my friend Jessica’s book launch. Now, I can create her magical rice krispie sculptures! Also it gave me a reason to wear this cool outfit.Had a picnic in the park with these two cuties!Went to a rally the day after Charlottesville. Tears streamed down my face as the crowd held hands and promised in loud voices “We will do better.”My favorite think about going to watch a Yankees game was the ice cream!A visit from my brother-in-law and a nighttime picnic in the park. And, finally, the sweetest roommates celebrating my back to school!
What fun things have you been up to this summer? And, more importantly, what books did you read and love?
I love the dress you are wearing in the wedding photo you shared. Where did you get it?
Thanks 🙂
Thanks! I got it from a website called Show Me Your Mumu (lol). It was very comfortable and wrinkle-proof – great for a wedding!
