Okay, I’ll admit that I didn’t always go with the yummiest foods described in books. Sometimes I went for funny or interesting over delicious. Because in real life Potato Peel Pie sounds dubious and Turkish Delight is always a let down. But both pop of the page when described in their respective books! I also limited myself to one food per book, otherwise the whole list would have been Harry Potter and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Molly’s Cookie Dough, from The Upside of Unrequited
Pasta, from Strega Nona
Christmas Fruit Cake Cookies, from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Everlasting Gobstoppers, from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Raspberry Cordial, from Anne of Green Gables
Potato Peel Pie, from The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
Turkish Delight, from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Snow Ice Cream, from Little House in the Big Woods
I definitely want to eat almost anything at Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory (okay, maybe not anything that isn’t 100% tested and approved though). And YES to Butterbeer and anything Lara Jean makes!!
Oh wow. That’s the first book I thought of when I thought of food. I think those Great Hall feast scenes always pop into my mind first when I think of the books.
So fun to see Turkish Delight on the list (seen this one on a few lists today!) and of course, Little House, too. Also, I’m being reminded today that I *still* need to read Lara Jean’s stories. They sound 100% like “me reads,” so I’m excited to read those pretties. 🙂
Mmm your list has made me hungry! 🙂 I love books that are great at describing food so well.
Me too!

Lara Jean is my #bakinggoals.
Hi! Butterbeer! I can’t believe I left Harry Potter off of my list this week 🙂

There are so many things from Harry Potter that I want to try!

How about Green Eggs and Ham! Here’s a link to literary recipes:http://www.quirkbooks.com/post/ten-our-favorite-foods-literature-you-can-actually-make-yourself
Three of these books are on my list as well! I am kicking myself for not thinking of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Great list!

I would love to eat the food in Harry Potter. It all sounds so good!
