Happy Election Day, Friends! I’m excited to head off to the polls and teach a special Election Day writing workshop to some of my favorite ten-year-olds this morning. But before I do … here are ten characters from novels I’d vote for in a heartbeat. If only I had choices like these on my ballot today!
Thanks to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting this weekly book meme! And don’t forget to go vote today!
Great list – especially love adding the Paper Bag Princess.
I’d like to connect Eowyn from Lord of the Rings with Emily’s List. There’s a lot of leadership potential there but she doesn’t think she can be a leader because she is a woman.
Oh yes! I would vote for her in a heartbeat!
Aw, Lucy!! She’s one of my most favorite characters in lit ever. She has this ability to have faith in the things we cannot see, and I admire that.
I’ve heard good things about the Shatter Me series, but never read it. 🙂
I love the Shatter Me series. Juliette might not make a great candidate in the first book, but by the end she has so much confidence that I think she’d be a great politician and leader.
Grace & Lucy without doubt!
I love Grace for President. It is definitely one of my favorite picture books!
Gandalf! Of course! He would be awesome.
My list would be very similar! I would add Sabriel from the book Sabriel by Garth Nix. 😀
Hermione made my list, too. I’d vote for her!
ELIZABETH FROM THE PAPER BAG PRINCESS FOR PRESIDENT
I would definitely vote for Hermione or Lucy!

Starr would be an awesome person to vote for!
Hermione and Shazi, heck yes. And Lucy too.
I haven’t read your Turtles post yet because I’m not quite finished with the book!!
YES, YES, YES. I completely agree. Hermione, Lucy and Starr would all be absolutely amazing leaders. 🙂 Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! ❤
