Ten Characters I’d Love to Vote For

toptentuesday2

Happy Election Day, Friends! I’m excited to head off to the polls and teach a special Election Day writing workshop to some of my favorite ten-year-olds this morning. But before I do … here are ten characters from novels I’d vote for in a heartbeat. If only I had choices like these on my ballot today!

Thanks to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting this weekly book meme! And don’t forget to go vote today!

  1. Great list – especially love adding the Paper Bag Princess.

I’d like to connect Eowyn from Lord of the Rings with Emily’s List. There’s a lot of leadership potential there but she doesn’t think she can be a leader because she is a woman.

  2. Aw, Lucy!! She’s one of my most favorite characters in lit ever. She has this ability to have faith in the things we cannot see, and I admire that.

I’ve heard good things about the Shatter Me series, but never read it. 🙂

    1. I love the Shatter Me series. Juliette might not make a great candidate in the first book, but by the end she has so much confidence that I think she’d be a great politician and leader.

  3. YES, YES, YES. I completely agree. Hermione, Lucy and Starr would all be absolutely amazing leaders. 🙂 Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! ❤
