March was a wackadoodle month for me. Usually, I think February is the cruelest month (sorry T.S. Eliot) … but this year I think it might have been March. It was a very up and down month for me. Confusing! I’ve had my best and worst writing days. I’ve been busier teaching than every – which is wonderful but also so exhausting. And the weather has been … let’s just say this California girl is ready for some spring weather on the east coast.
But even though my body and mental health are severely in need of a big dose of vitamin D, there’s plenty to celebrate from the month. I read (and LOVED) Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman, and Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi. My romance novel reading streak is still going strong. I read eight romance novels (which my mom says is a sign that I’m sad) and my favorite of the bunch was Along Came Love by Tracey Livesay (diverse, feminist romance with accidental baby story-line = sawoon!).
This month I also travelled to California and got in some amazing family/puppy time. I made my friends read A Wrinkle in Time and hosted a book discussion brunch before the movie and wrote this post in celebration for Book Riot.
So yeah, I’m ready for Spring. But despite some general grumpiness and, according to my mother, reading too many romance novels, it’s overall been a good month.
A Wrinkle in Time is such a wonderful book. It sounds perfect for a group discussion! 😀
It was so fun! A great mix of folks who’d read it before and ones who were reading it for the first time!
