Hey there, friends! It’s been FOREVER since we’ve played marry, date or dump and there have been so many new, swoon-worthy YA characters written. I picked three of my favorites … which I’m already starting to regret. I mean, who am I going to dump? This one’s going to keep me up tonight. We’ve got the romantic, family-loving, and sensible Rishi from When Dimple Met Rishi, Chris from The Hate U Give with his fancy sneakers and knowledge of all things Fresh Prince, and the adorkable, Tolkien and Cadbury egg loving Reid from The Upside of Unrequited. Ahhhhhh … no actually I’m freaking out about who to dump. Marry Date or Dump: Pride and Prejudice

Happy Monday, friends! Over the last five feverish, ouchy-throated days I have, of course, watched both Pride and Prejudice adaptations. So I’ve got Jane Austen on the brain! I’ve done a lot of Austen combinations in past Marry Date or Dumps, but I don’t think I’ve done this one. This is frankly shocking because I think about it a lot. We’ve got Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bingley, and Colonel Fitzwilliam. At first, it seems pretty straight forward. But people can have very different, very strident opinions when it comes to these men. One of my favorite English teachers in high school strongly felt that Colonel Fitzwilliam was the best man of the bunch. Hi friends! I’ve missed Marry, Date or Dump so I thought I’d do a few in October. I’ve been wanting to reread Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children for awhile. I read it during a confusing/grumpy time, and I’m worried my feelings about life seeped into how I felt about the book. So many people I know love this one and now there is a movie! I know this pairing is totally random, but I just picked three idealized (but occasionally obsessive) romantic male characters to choose from this week. We have Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice and Edward Cullen from Twilight and Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby. All seem like they would be fun, but potentially perilous, to date. Happy Monday! Who had a nice holiday weekend? I hope everyone. I rewatched (both) Bridget Jones movies last week and definitely have Darcy on the brain. I thought it’s be fun pick three versions of Mr. Darcy to marry, date, or dump this week. I decided on Mr. Darcy from the book (or traditional movie adaptation if you like!), Mark Darcy from Bridget Jones (sawoon), and William Darcy from The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Marry, Date or Dump: Mockingjay

Who’s excited for Thursday? Last year, before Mockingjay One I asked if people wanted to marry, date or dump Peeta, Gale, and Finnick. This year, I’m going a little older and want to know what you think of Haymitch Abernathy, Plutarch Heavensbee, and Caesar Flickerman. Marry, Date or Dump: Girl on the Train

Taking a break from YA today, to marry, date, or dump characters from Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins. I started this book last winter, when everyone was talking about it, but it actually took me over six months to finish – so not a particularly thrilling thriller for me. Although the fault was probably that I was trying to read it on the subway (thematic!), so I didn’t spend big chunks of time with it. Anyways, today if you so choose you can marry, date, or dump (1) Rachel Hawkins, the thirty-something alcoholic still reeling from her divorce with Tom, (2) Megan, a woman Rachel spies on from the train who after kissing a man that isn’t her husband disappears, or (3) Anna, Tom’s new wife.
