I’m keeping this post short and relatively open since I stayed up last night watching the Oscars and I still have them on my mind. Between any of the nominees (or presenters if you want to get really loose) let me know in the comments who you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump. Based on just this pic I think I’d marry Lupita Nyong’o’s brother. It takes guts to get in front of Angelina Jolie in a selfie.
Oscar Nominations came out yesterday. While perusing the list, I found myself looking at the nominations for best adapted screen play and wondering what exactly those screenplays were adapted from. Here’s what I found out.
From Shakespeare to Tolkien or Jane Austen to J. K. Rowling, adaptations have accounted for huge critical and commercial successes and they certainly haven’t been ignored at the Academy Awards. We all know the past Best Picture Winners like, “Gone With the Wind”, “Hamlet”, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Lord of the Rings” are the film versions of great pieces of literature. But after doing some investigation I found that there have been a lot of Best Picture winning films that I had no idea were based on books.
