Earlier this summer I sped my way through E. Lockhart’s Ruby Oliver Boyfriend List series. These books were quick favorites and stood up to multiple rereading. They felt realistic, funny, meaningful – everything a favorite book is supposed to feel like. As a result, I had incredibly high hopes for We Were Liars, especially considering all the hype the book got over this summer.

Hi friends! I really really really wanted to get a review of We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart up on the blog today … but I have some pages due for class later tonight (getting back into the swing of having homework is a bit of a struggle) and now that it’s after five I’ve realized I have to let the book review go until next week.

I have completely fallen in love with the Ruby Oliver books by E. Lockhart. I’ve got the fourth book coming for me at the library this week, and I even read two of them in one night last Wednesday. That’s how good they are. I love love love that even though the characters think about boys all the time, the plot isn’t really a romance.
