I wasn’t going to participate this time, but I couldn’t help myself. I just signed up for Dewey’s Read-a-thon tomorrow. I have class and a bunch of other work to do, so I’m going to set my goal at 8 hours of reading. Also I figure if I read some of the books I have for homework that makes it productive time right?
If anyone wants to join me, here’s the link to sign up. It really is pretty much the most fun ever. Let the reading begin!
From 8am this morning to 8am tomorrow, people all around the world (and the web) will be reading. Here is the website where you can get more info about this challenge. I’m not sure I’m hardcore enough to last all 24 hours, but I do hope to spend most of the day reading and surpass 1,000 pages. I have a stack full of books from the library and fridge full of yummy snacks I made yesterday – so I’m ready for a pretty amazing day. Continue reading
For the next 24 hours I’m going to be part of Dewey’s Read-a-thon. This is my second time participating and I’m more excited/less nervous than I was my first time around. I’m not hardcore enough yet to try to read the whole 24 hours, but I am going to try and surpass my time/page count from last April. This means I need to read for more than 13 hours and read more than 1,000 pages. Internet permitting (it’s been on the fritz lately) I’ll be updating this post throughout the day (and night!) on my progress and with fun mini-challenges. Today we are participating in Dewey’s read-a-thon – 24 hours devoted to books, readers and reading. Neither of us plans to read for the full 24 hours (those people are hardcore!) but we will both be posting updates throughout the day. Read more about the read-a-thon here and check back in on our progress throughout the day. You can also get updates by checking our twitter: @AlisonsWhoRead. Let the reading begin!
